So many tomatoes and everything else too. With the recent rain our garden has gone from reliable to exceptional. More tomatoes and cucumbers then we can eat. Rhubarb, onions, and out of this world herbs. The basil, thyme, and oregano have been 2-3 ft high all summer and consistently full.
What I am most pleased with are my woody herbs: the rosemary, lavender, and french tarragon. All three have managed to become full with out getting leggy, now if i can just get them to survive winter….
Every year I bring my rosemary and lavender in (this is my first time with tarragon) they survive months only to die as easter arrives. This year a new strategy: everything stays in the garden. I have been reading up on over wintering and i think I’ll try creating some protection with burlap and hay.
