baked doughnuts?

The change in weather translated to a craving for something homemade and doughy–doughnuts, but i couldn’t face the rigamarole of deep frying so i tried baking them instead….it worked out not to badly, in fact with a good dusting of cinnamon and sugar they are rather like the “old fashioneds” i can get around the corner at our local bakery.  I would like to find a more traditional recipe i checked joy of cooking but even it has a pretty modernized version have to keep my eye out for some old cook books.
