Easter Treats

Made some easter treats for the kids –sent a few home with the kids in my care and saved a few for our easter party with the family. I am now completely infatuated with fondant-easy to use and great rsults. The easter critters were inspired by an easter recipe my sister brought home. We altered a “crispy treat’ recipe to include milk chocolate (left over from tom’s birthday train decorations) and used the remaining white chocolate disks for the faces. Finally, we rolled out left over fondant from Tom’s b-day train and cut out some shapes to create ears, beaks, eyes, paws, &c.
The plan was to have the kids assemble the pieces but in the end we ran out of time–and naps ran late. So instead Katie and I assembled the treats, we had lots of easter fun. Next year no chocolate in the mix, but maybe PB–and entirely fondant faces, we get enough chocolate around here for easter…
