Baked & Stuffed French Toast Cremre Brulee

My newest saturday morning treat for when company comes to stay. Prepped the night before, it cooks in 40ish minutes, so its perfect while chatting over the morning’s first cup of coffee.
6Tb butter
1/2 c brown sugar, packed
2Tb maple syrup
1 loaf, day old bread
2/3C heavy cream
1& 1/3C milk
8 eggs
1&1/2tsp vanilla
2Tb sherry/brandy
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c strawberries, sliced
2/3 c cream cheese, cubed
1 Tb granulated sugar

Melt butter add syrup & sugar and simmer about 5min until sugar is disolved.
Meanwhile whip together eggs, cream, milk, vanilla, brandy & salt. Set aside.
Spray the bottom of a 9×13 pan with oil or grease w/ butter.
Pour sugar liquid into pan. Tilt so that bottom of pan is covered.
Cut bread into 1/2″ slices, trim off most of crust, then cube.
Sprinkle half of bread over caramel and press down.

Drop 1/2″ cubes of cream cheese over bread, spread out evenly.
Layer strawberries over top of bread & cream cheese. Sprinkle with Tb of granulated sugar.
Sprinkle remaing bread over strawberries.
Pour egg mix over bread. Cover with food wrap and refridgerate over night.
Remove casserole from fridge and let come to room temp. Pre heat oven to 350.
Once oven is hot, bake about 40 min until top is top is golden brown.

Let cool.a few minutes then run a knife around the edges to loosen and flip onto serving platter.
Slice & serve.
