I havent made these in a while but its one of my standards, and I made it this week for a new addition to our play group.
1 C oats
1 C ground oats
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp dry ground clove, ginger, or cardamon
1/4 tsp salt
1 C mashed banana
1 tsp vanilla
3 Tb canola oil
Preheat to 350
Combine wet, pulverizing banana and mixing very well with oil. separately combine dry, then add to wet. Mix well. I make shapes with about 2Tb of dough. I shape on a parchment lined baking sheet I form rounded 2″ ovals or discs, about 1/8″ thick (I indent with a line down the middle so it is easily broken in half) Bake for 12 – 15 minutes, flipping biscuits once or twice during that time for even browning . They will be dry and hard. Once cooled, they can be Stored in an airtight container and frozen.
Small bits will come off as your little one knaws away at the frozen biscuit. They are usually good for about 40min of chewing.
